Account Hacked - Guild Wars Forums

I have been playing GW since the very first beta. I have been absent from the game for about 2 years now. I log on every now and the to play the occasional RA match or so.

I log in and account is blocked. I submitted a petition to NcSoft. "Your account has been blocked due to gold sellers using the account." They unblocked my account within a few hours.

I had just played the game about 2 days ago. I don't do anything that can give my infomation away. The password is completely separate from anything I have. I also play WoW, Aion, and DDO. None of the other games have been hacked.

So far notable items gone is all my Ecto & Shards. That's to be expected. They took my tormentor's shield and black beast AAAHHHH!!! mini. Took 3 highly rare minis altogether. I ended up with a perfect Mursaat Hammer (8 req) 15>50. I didn't have that before so....lol.

They didn't smash any of my gear for runes *phew.* And they missed my perfect 15% -5 energy 8 req celestial sword and perfect 8 str req celestial shield. They did take my orginal +5 energy sword that was sold by collector at the start of the game that was removed.

They didn't even take a single green item.....well....I take that back. They did take my victo hammer.

This worries me because none of my other games have been hacked and this is a game I seldom play. If I did have a keylogger + backdoor on my comp they would have hit WoW and Aion first as those games have something of real value. GW isn't very high on the value list of in game items to sell for real money.

More seriously: change your password to something stupid complicated (lots of special characters). Use a different computer than you normally do if possible. Virus scan. Figure out if anyone with direct access to your comp could have keylogged you. Maybe your friend/significant other likes GW stuff more than they like IRL money.

Consider if you could have gotten drunk/high/whatever and made a trade, since you now own a stupid expensive item you didn't own previously.
